We are hearing about phone scams in our community, and want to help you avoid them by keeping you informed. Two are particularly nasty: missed-jury-duty scams and back-tax scams. These even claim to be deputies calling from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and will text documents that look very real but aren’t. To protect yourself, do not give personal or financial information over the phone! Hang up and call the Sheriff’s Office directly if you believe you are being scammed.
